By World Class® Editorial · October 20, 2026 · Furnished Apartments
Start your NYC furnished-apartment search with your arrival and departure dates. Some owners offer furnished homes on a yearlong lease; others rent by the month or sublet until a fixed return date. Establish the term before you spend time comparing apartments.
Our shortlist includes World Class®, Blueground, StreetEasy, Furnished Finder, Leasebreak, New York Habitat and Airbnb. Each suits a different search. For a work assignment, start with providers that accommodate your full stay. For a neighborhood you have already chosen, a marketplace may help you find more addresses to compare.
World Class® publishes this guide and appears in it. We reviewed the services' NYC search pages and published guidance in October 2026, comparing furnished options, rental terms, booking arrangements and cost information. The recommendations below reflect those features; we have not stayed in every provider's apartments.
The best websites by type of apartment search
| Website | A good fit for | Check before committing |
|---|---|---|
| World Class® | Booking a furnished monthly residence with one provider | Availability for your dates and any optional charges |
| Blueground | Comparing furnished homes across NYC neighborhoods | The complete quote, including utilities and other charges |
| StreetEasy | Exploring the broader NYC rental market | Whether the furnished listing accepts your rental term |
| Furnished Finder | Contacting landlords about monthly housing | Entire apartment versus room, plus landlord terms |
| Leasebreak | Finding furnished sublets and rentals with specific end dates | The agreement type, approval and furniture included |
| New York Habitat | Getting an agent's help with a furnished rental | The full quote and any agency fee |
| Airbnb | Comparing individual hosts and guest reviews | Exact dates, property type and cancellation terms |
Enter the same dates and apartment size on each site. A price for a room or a longer lease will give you a misleading comparison if you need a private apartment for two months.
World Class®: for furnished monthly stays with one provider
If you're moving for work or need a home while you search for a permanent address, start with our furnished apartments in New York City. World Class® furnishes its residences with kitchen equipment and linens, and includes utilities and Wi-Fi in the monthly rate.
You choose from the World Class® portfolio and arrange your stay with our team. Our booking FAQ sets a 30-day minimum and explains extensions, which depend on availability. Employers can also explore NYC corporate housing for company bookings and invoicing.
The portfolio limits your choice of addresses. Check the homes available for your dates, and ask about any optional costs, including housekeeping, pets or parking. A furnished rate still needs a written quote for your particular stay.
Blueground: for comparing furnished homes across neighborhoods
Blueground's NYC search includes furnished apartments in Manhattan and Brooklyn, with locations such as Lincoln Square, Chelsea and Dumbo. Its NYC guidance states a minimum stay of 30 days.
If you're weighing Chelsea against Dumbo, you can look at both through the same search. Enter your full stay before comparing prices; Blueground explains that the rate depends in part on the rental term.
Read the price breakdown. Its NYC FAQ says guests may face extra charges for certain utilities, parking or pets. Ask for the full amount and the extension terms for the apartment you select.
StreetEasy: for a broad NYC apartment search
StreetEasy has a furnished-apartment filter, so it belongs on this list even though it covers much more than furnished housing. You can compare homes from different agents, owners and managers, then narrow the search by neighborhood and apartment size.
Its search tools also include amenities and saved-search alerts. Those help when you can wait for a suitable listing in a particular area.
Confirm the rental term with the listing contact. The furnished filter does not establish that an owner will accept a 60-day stay. Our StreetEasy vs. World Class® comparison covers the choice between a broader apartment search and a furnished monthly residence.
Furnished Finder: for contacting landlords about monthly housing
Furnished Finder's New York listings include entire homes and rooms in shared apartments. Check the property type before comparing rents, especially if you need a private kitchen or bathroom.
You can contact landlords to discuss your stay. Furnished Finder says travelers can search and contact them without platform service or booking fees. Its traveler fee guidance also explains that landlord charges and payment-processing fees may apply.
Ask about the agreement, included utilities and who handles repairs. Keep a copy of the terms you agree to with the landlord.
Leasebreak: for furnished sublets and rentals with fixed dates
Leasebreak's furnished rental search is worth checking when you can fit your stay around an existing rental's dates. Listings show details such as the earliest move-in date, move-out date and whether the home is furnished.
The site covers several arrangements. Its guide to using Leasebreak lists sublets, lease assignments, rooms and other rentals. Read the listing type before contacting someone: taking over a lease involves different paperwork from arranging a temporary sublet.
Confirm the landlord or building approvals needed for that arrangement, the permitted end date and which furniture will remain. Ask whether you will sign a new lease or take on an existing agreement.
New York Habitat: for help from a rental agent
New York Habitat has a furnished-rental service for stays starting at one month, alongside a separate roommate-share service. Its agents can help with an apartment search if you prefer to explain your requirements to a person.
For a move from outside New York, you may prefer that help with the search. Send the dates, maximum budget and any requirements that would rule out an apartment, such as stairs or a shared bathroom.
Ask the agent for the complete quote, including any agency fee and the apartment's utility arrangements. Use the specific listing and agreement to confirm the total; terms differ between homes.
Airbnb: for comparing hosts and guest reviews
Airbnb's NYC monthly-rental search lets you compare individual listings and guest reviews. Filter for an entire place if you need a private apartment, then read the amenities and cancellation policy for that home.
Pay attention to the dates. Airbnb's monthly-stay guidance uses a threshold of 28 nights. NYC's Office of Special Enforcement says rentals of 30 consecutive days or more are exempt from short-term rental registration. These are different thresholds. A platform's monthly label does not establish that a particular rental complies with the rules that apply to it.
Confirm that the host can accommodate your exact stay and that the building permits the arrangement. Check the full price before you reserve.
Compare the total cost for your dates
Build a shortlist of two or three actual apartments, then request a total for the same arrival and departure dates. Keep whole apartments and private rooms in separate comparisons.
For each home, record:
- The accommodation charge for the full stay, including any mandatory fees.
- Utilities and internet, including any usage allowance or cap.
- Cleaning, pet or parking charges that apply to your booking.
- Refundable deposits and when the provider expects to return them.
- The payment schedule and terms for cancellation, early departure or extension.
Keep refundable deposits separate from the cost of the stay, but include them when planning the cash needed before arrival. Ask who you will contact if the Wi-Fi fails or an appliance needs repair.
No single website will have the lowest price for every combination of dates and neighborhood. Compare quotes for homes you would be willing to book.
Look at the building as well as the website
Start with the address you will travel to most often, such as your office or campus. Check the journey from each apartment's exact building, including the walk to transit. A neighborhood name alone cannot tell you how that trip will feel each morning.
For a downtown Manhattan search, explore World Class® residences at 95 Wall and 10 Hanover Square in the Financial District. Open the individual residence pages to compare layouts and available dates.

The Suffolk offers another World Class® building to explore on the Lower East Side. Compare that location with your daily destinations before choosing between it and a Financial District address.

Check the city as well as the neighborhood in search results. Jersey City and Weehawken are in New Jersey. They can suit some New York metro stays, but compare the cross-river commute before treating them as alternatives to an NYC apartment.
